A mosquito program for a wedding venue
Wadmalaw Island, Event lawn and pond, 6 acres, Every 21 days, March to October, $185 per visit

BEFORE

AFTER
THE PROBLEM
An outdoor wedding venue with a pond, a lawn under live oaks and guests outside from April to October. Couples asked about mosquitoes before they signed, and two summer receptions had moved indoors.
WHAT WE DID
Rhiannon mapped every place that held water: the pond edge, two clogged culverts, a stack of rental tarps and the drip trays under the planters. We treat the shrub line and the oaks every 21 days, put larvicide in what cannot be drained and add an event treatment two days before each wedding.
RESULT
Landing counts on the lawn dropped from 31 a minute to 3 by June, and no reception has moved indoors since. $185 per visit for the whole property, event treatments $149 each.
THE TREATMENT, STEP BY STEP
Breeding sites mapped: pond edge, culverts, tarps, planter trays
Barrier on the shrub line and the oak canopy every 21 days
Larvicide where water cannot be drained
Event treatment two days before every wedding
Landing counts logged on every visit
WHAT THE OWNER SAID
