Bed bugs home from a trip
Summerville, 3 bedrooms, 1,750 sq ft, 1 day, two follow-ups, $2,400
BEFORE
AFTER
THE PROBLEM
A family came back from a hotel stay with a suitcase that had sat on the bed. Three weeks later the youngest had bites, and they had found bugs in two rooms.
WHAT WE DID
Inspection first: bugs in two bedrooms and the couch, so we heated the whole house to stop them moving. Luggage and laundry went through the dryer on high, and we inspected again at 14 and 30 days.
RESULT
Clear at both inspections. Final $2,400 for the house, plus a one-page guide to checking a hotel room before unpacking.
THE TREATMENT, STEP BY STEP
Bugs found in two bedrooms and the couch
Whole house heated in one day
Luggage and laundry dried on high heat
Inspections at 14 and 30 days, both clear
A hotel-check guide for the next trip
WHAT THE OWNER SAID
“We brought them home from a hotel. They heated the whole house in a day and came back twice to check.”
